What buyers ask before the demo
Do cycle counts mean freezing the aisle?
No. Counts run as directed tasks during normal operations — a counter is sent to specific bins, keys what's there, and variances go through review before posting as audited adjustments. Picking continues around them. The annual wall-to-wall shutdown becomes optional, not sacred.
What happens when a picker hits an empty bin?
They record a short pick and move on — the order doesn't stall and the picker doesn't improvise. The shortfall lands in the exception queue with an owner, the line can backorder against inbound stock, and the empty pick face triggers replenishment from bulk so it doesn't happen twice.
Can a supervisor rebalance work mid-shift?
Yes. The Tower shows open work per picker in real time, and orders or whole batches reassign inline. When one zone is drowning at 2 PM, moving three orders to another picker takes seconds — and the queue reflects it immediately.
How are waves actually built?
From criteria you set: carrier, priority and cutoff time. Orders matching the criteria group into a wave, which you release as a unit and track to completion. You can still release single orders or ad-hoc batches when the day calls for it — waves are a tool, not a cage.
Do we need special scanners or hardware?
No. The Tower and its execution screens run in a browser, and any standard keyboard-wedge barcode scanner works for scan confirmation. If you want purpose-built handheld workflows on the floor, the Warehouse Mobile add-on puts receiving, picking and counts on mobile devices.
